About us

Peachtree Kennel is dedicated to the raising and breeding of happy, healthy, quality breed-standard Cairn Terriers.  We only have 2-3 litters of Cairn Terrier puppies per year, as we are a small family business.  "Peachtree Kennel" is just a business name and should not be confused with kenneled dogs in cages.  We raise all of our Cairn Terrier puppies in our home where they are well socialized and whole-heartedly loved.  Our dogs are a very big part of our family and do not live in cages. We have two stud dogs  (Mojo and Blaze) and three breeding dams (Bliss, Tillie Grace, and Journey). 

We only sell our puppies to loving homes and we will ask you personal information such as your intentions for this puppy and questions about your family, home, yard, etc.  We hope you do not take offense to our inquiries, as we love each and every one of our puppies and want the best possible life for them.  Likewise, we welcome any questions that you may have of us regarding our breeding ethics, facility, etc. and appreciate you being a well informed, responsible purchaser. 

We want to thank you for NOT buying a puppy from a pet store as most, if not all of pet store puppies come from puppy mills.  Oprah has recently done an investigation into the horrific conditions of these puppy mills and hopefully more people will do their research in finding a conscientious, honest breeder.  For a link to Oprah's episode where she exposed these horrible conditions, please watch the You Tube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJIl2tdkYPY. 

New Puppy Contract

We reserve the right to refuse sale of our puppies even after the puppy has been promised to a potential buyer.  Our puppies are available to go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age.  If your puppy remains in our kennel for more than 3 days past the 'available date', a $25 fee will be charged per day for the boarding and grooming of your puppy.  If no arrangements have been made to retrieve your puppy, it will be left to our discretion to place the puppy with someone else. 

Payments:   Our puppies are $2000.  All puppies need to be paid in full at pick-up and the final payment, minus the deposit, will be due in cash.  All puppies will remain in our kennel until they are paid in full.  A $200 deposit will be collected when we know that we have a puppy for you.   Our puppies come with limited registration with the AKC on a spay/neuter contract and we do not allow our pups to be bred.

Shipping: We will not ship our puppies by themselves.  We require that the purchaser obtain the puppy in person.  Please contact brycie@peachtreekennel.com for more information on ways to obtain your puppy.   

We only sell our puppies to wonderful pet homes and have the right to refuse any inquiries. 

All puppies will be sent home with a "puppy pack" which includes a sample of their food, Costco’s “Kirkland Signature Nature's Domain Puppy Formula Chicken & Pea Dog Food”, a toy with the litter's scent, the puppy's vaccination/de-wormer record, a grooming guide, and other pertinent puppy-related information.  Your puppy has been hand-raised in our home and has been showered with love and affection.  We would love to stay in touch with each and every one of our new families. 

Condition of Sale:

PET QUALITY CAIRN TERRIER PUPPIES ARE SOLD WITH LIMITED REGISTRATION WITH THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB.  LIMITED REGISTRATION MEANS THAT THE PUPPY/DOG IS REGISTERED BUT NO LITTERS PRODUCED BY THAT DOG ARE ELIGIBLE FOR REGISTRATION.  PUPPIES ARE ALSO SOLD ON A SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT MEANING THAT THE AKC REGISTRATION PAPERS WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE NEW OWNER UPON WRITTEN PROOF FROM A LICENSED VETERINARIAN THAT THE DOG HAS BEEN SPAYED/NEUTERED.

EACH CAIRN TERRIER PUPPY IS SOLD WITH AN UP TO DATE RECORD OF VACCINATIONS AND DE-WORMING.

EACH CAIRN TERRIER PUPPY IS GUARANTEED UNTIL 2 YEARS OF AGE AGAINST HEREDITARY AND CONGENITAL DEFECTS.  IF THE PUPPY DIES WITHIN THE FIRST 2 YEARS OF LIFE FROM A CONGENITAL OR HEREDITARY DEFECT, WE WILL REPLACE IT WITH A SUITABLE PUPPY OF EQUAL VALUE.  WE MUST HAVE, IN WRITING, THE DIAGNOSIS AND EXACT CAUSE OF DEATH FROM A LICENSED VETERINARIAN ALONG WITH THE VETERINARIAN'S CREDENTIALS WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM THE TIME OF DEATH FOR THE BUYER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS GUARANTEE OF A REPLACEMENT PUPPY.

THE BREEDER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE AFTER THE SALE FOR ANY CHANGE TO THE COAT, COSMETIC DEFECTS, OR CONFORMATION.

THE BREEDER GUARANTEES A HEALTHY CAIRN TERRIER PUPPY AT THE TIME OF THE SALE.

THE BREEDER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SALE AT ANY TIME, REFUNDING THE DEPOSIT RECEIVED, AND VOIDING THIS CONTRACT OR ANY RIGHT TO A PUPPY BEFORE THE PUPPY IS PICKED UP.

THE BUYER AGREES TO HAVE THEIR NEWLY ACQUIRED PUPPY EXAMINED BY A LICENSED VETERINARIAN WITHIN 72 HOURS OF DELIVERY OR THE GUARANTEE IS NOT APPLICABLE.  IF SAID PUPPY IS FOUND TO BE OTHER THAN HEALTHY BY THE BUYER'S VET, IT SHALL BE RETURNED TO THE BREEDER IMMEDIATELY AND THE PURCHASE PRICE WILL BE REFUNDED IN FULL.  A WRITTEN STATEMENT OF THE DIAGNOSIS FROM THE BUYER'S VET, THE VET'S CREDENTIALS, AND THE PUPPY MUST BE OBTAINED BY THE BREEDER BEFORE THE PURCHASE PRICE IS TO BE REFUNDED.

THE BREEDER DOES NOT ASSUME ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY TO SAID PUPPY AFTER DELIVERY.

THE BUYER UNDERSTANDS THAT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP SAID PUPPY AWAY FROM POTENTIAL ILLNESSES UNTIL ALL INITIAL VACCINATIONS HAVE BEEN GIVEN.

THE BUYER AGREES TO MAINTAIN THE PUPPY'S HEALTHY CONDITION, VACCINATIONS AND DE-WORMING SCHEDULE, AND ANY OTHER USUAL PROCEDURES NECESSARY TO ASSURE GOOD HEALTH AND VITALITY.

THE BREEDER HAS PROVIDED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO PRODUCE HEALTHY, SOUND PUPPIES AND BY RAISING THE PUPPIES IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE IN REGARDS TO DIET, EXERCISE, SOCIALIZATION, AND VETERINARY CARE.

THE BUYER UNDERSTANDS THAT THERE ARE MANY FACTORS THAT CAN INFLUENCE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT SUCH AS DIET, EXERCISE, ETC., AND FURTHER UNDERSTANDS THAT THE BREEDER CAN OFFER NO FURTHER GUARANTEES ONCE THE CARE OF THE PUPPY HAS BEEN TURNED OVER TO THE BUYER.

THE BUYER AGREES TO HAVE THE PUPPY/DOG SPAYED/NEUTERED AT THE APPROPRIATE AGE AS PER THEIR VETERINARIAN AND PROOF OF THIS SPAY/NEUTER WILL BE FORWARDED TO PEACHTREE KENNEL BEFORE THE AKC REGISTRATION PAPERS WILL BE OFFERED TO THE BUYER.  THE BUYER UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES THAT THIS PUPPY/DOG IS NOT TO BE BRED AND WILL NOT BE BRED.

IF FOR SOME REASON THE BUYER IS UNABLE TO KEEP THE PUPPY FOR ITS LIFESPAN, THE BUYER WILL NOTIFY THE BREEDER AND AGREES TO FIND THE PUPPY/DOG A QUALITY, SUITABLE HOME.  THE BUYER WILL NOT PLACE THE PUPPY/DOG IN A SHELTER, UNSUITABLE HOME, OR EUTHANIZE IF THE PUPPY/DOG IS SUITABLE AS A PET.

Purchaser's Statement:

THE BUYER AGREES THAT HE/SHE IS NOT ACTING AS AN AGENT IN THE PURCHASE OF THIS ANIMAL AND THAT IT WILL REMAIN IN HIS/HER CUSTODY.

THE BUYER FURTHER SWEARS THAT HE/SHE IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH A PET SHOP, PUPPY MILL OR ANIMAL BROKER AND THE BUYER SWEARS THAT HE/SHE WILL NOT BREED THIS ANIMAL.

I, THE UNDERSIGNED, UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS PRESENTED HERE AND BY SIGNING, MAKES THIS A BINDING CONTRACT.
